The reconstruction of the intersection of Route 303 and Diagonal Road in Streetsboro is scheduled to open on Thursday.

The project began on July 13th and was projected to last for 7 weeks. This is week number 7 and it appears the project is right on schedule.

The Ohio Department of Transportation selected the intersection for re-design based on the number of serious traffic crashes and fatalities that occur there annually.

The re-design will change the dangerous intersection from a “Y” configuration to a “T” configuration. The change will make it easier for northbound drivers on Diagonal Road to see approaching eastbound traffic on Route 303.

As part of the new configuration, left turn lanes will be added from Route 303 to Diagonal Road, allowing through traffic to move smoothly.
